The Baroque Society performed the Mass in D minor "Lord Nelson" by Franz Joseph Haydn and the Lux Aeterna by Morten Lauridsen to a near capacity crowd on Tuesday May 11, 2010.

A reception followed the performance which included 3 drawings for some great recordings from the Montiverdi Choir and the baroque ensemble Texas Camerata.

The members of the Baroque Society were overwhelmed with the audience response.   We continue to receive notes about the performance.  Listen to what some of the audience members had to say:

"I am still searching for the right words to let you all know how magnificent last night was. I am only a lay person but I was truly overwhelmed by the beautiful performance. Everything was beyond expectation, you were all at your very best.

Here is what I saw...all of you arranged under the beautiful cross at Arborlawn, the light coming down on your heads and shining on your faces....and the room alive with incredible sound that just fell all over those of us lucky enough to be engaged and listening. I felt closer to each of you, and truly to God, as I was listening to the prayers of glory and praise written so very long ago."

" I normally don't listen to this type of music.  I am more of a country and western kind of guy.  But, I definitely want to know when your next performance is!  I have never heard music like that before!"

" I am so glad that I was able to hear the Lux Aeterna.   I was in tears.  I am very familiar with the 'O Magnum Mysterium" by Lauridsen but had never heard the Lux Aeterna.  The music just enveloped me and at one point brought tears of joy as the music enveloped me.   It was an awesome performance"

The Fort Worth Baroque Society would like to express our sincere thanks to Dr. David Keith for his tireless efforts to make the Fort Worth Baroque Society a success.  His dedication to excellence truly made us shine.

Also to the orchestra, who played with great feeling and sensitivity to the music.  BRAVO!
